What Leagues, Academies can I operate in my area?
We are in the niche business of operating small sided recreational, elite and youth development and leagues. As an Affiliate Sports Director, you will have sanctioned rights to all our properties, resources and equipment. 3on3 Basketball, 3v3 Soccer and 5on5 Flag Football.
Do I have a protected territory? Yes, we will not allow more than one NASG Affiliate in an area, which is defined by either counties, zip codes, school districts. regardless in North America or international markets. We currently operate national tours that may be pre existing in your area, which we provide our Affiliates with a stipend to manage the tournament/3rd party event. Various benefits being part of the national network of NASG Affiliate Members.
What does NASG provide? Affiliate Sports Directors have exclusive rights to our properties, IP and sanctioning partnerships. We provide sales, operational and administration support. Affiliate LMM has access to our online registration platforms, team services department, one-on-one training, monthly conference calls, insurance, game equipment, branded merchandise, uniforms, awards, promotional collateral, sales materials, event insurance, online registration, scheduling and national marketing platforms. We will also assist Affiliates with business support such as website and social media platforms.
Is there marketing & promotional support? Yes, all Affiliate Sports Directors events will be listed on NASG registration websites, national email blasts, social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube Channels). A percentage of Affiliate LMM sanctioning fees and registration overrides will be allocated towards advertising/PR campaigns within digital and traditional advertising platforms. Locally, Affiliate Sports Commissioners will be required to drive local marketing, and will receive approved graphic specs made available for local digital and social media promotions .
How will my events fit into the national tournaments? Think of it this way, NASG is the league National Headquarters and you own and operate all your own "Home Games". Qualifying teams from your "Home Games" are invited to regional and national tournaments representing your city.
How much money can an Affiliate Sports Director expect? Affiliates will have several revenue channels from each league. Player registration is the biggest revenue source, then local sponsorships, concessions and merchandise. Managing expenses for facility rental, game official, local staff and promotional costs are very important to control your net profits. We will work with you on event budgets, negotiating the best rates for facility rentals and bulk purchasing power for merchandise, awards and event insurance.
Are these nationally sanctioned? Yes, both nationally and globally. Our 3on3 basketball tournaments are qualifiers for the USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Team, Hoop It Up 3x3 National Championship and the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. Our 3v3 soccer events are sanctioned qualifiers for the USA 3v3 Soccer, Kick It 3v3 World Championships in Vail and the Disney 3v3 Nationals at ESPN Sports Complex January 16-19, 2016. Our Flag Football tournaments are qualifiers for the Florida Citrus Bowl Flag Football Championships New Years Eve Weekend.
Do I have to operate an league in every sport? No, you can decide what sports are the best fit for your interest, relationships and time availability. Each league takes a good deal of planning and energy to make it successful, when first starting out, planning way ahead and executing a few successful leagues, will give you the confidence to plan more consecutively and grow your brand and business.
Is this a full time job? An Affiliate Sports Commissioner is considered an independent contractor, basically running a home based youth sports business with the flexibility to be your own boss. We suggest having another source of income in the start up phase as circumstances are different for everyone both professionally and personally.
Do I have to schedule each league? NASG has a staff of team services managing our toll free 1-800 call center which will free up your time with servicing coaches, players and parents who will call and have questions. Our team services staff will also assist you with scheduling your league and train you our registration software.
What is expected of an Affiliate? As an Affiliate you will be required to follow the sanctioning game rules and protect the integrity of our core mission to serve athletes and families. Our leagues are for recreational youth players just entering the sport.
Can I Set My Own Schedule of Programs? Yes we encourage year round programs; such as academies for more advanced players as well as other formats such as 5v5 Futsal soccer and full sided basketball. This additional programming not only creates year-round cash flow for your business, but also strengthens your relationships with clubs, players, coaches, parents and facilities. What is My Obligation and Investment? This is not a franchise which typically requires $40,000+ in start up costs. NASG Affiliate Program is a membership based affiliation with annual fees of only $500. We also require a licensing fee of $800 per sport for merchandise and awards if produced locally and not through NASG. We do require that you have the resources to sustain a local home operated business and commit to online training as well as a minimum of one monthly conference call. You will be offered to attend a 2 day training seminar and/or our annual National Conference each January MLK weekend Walt Disney World.
